Private fleet company with more than 10 truck & trailers which located in Niles, IL
As a Fleet Manager, your key responsibility is to coordinate and execute daily processes and activities involved in all aspects of fleet maintenance to ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment.
[Job Description]
- Review annual inspections, send out email, and update the system to maintain equipment files. Add and delete to the insurance. Maintaining the trucks and trailers, cab card or registration, insurance, IFTA certificate with sticker, annual inspection, FMCSA manual
- Coordinate and resolve road service calls
- IRP plates on all tractors and plates on all trailers yearly and as new ones purchased or terminated
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion, including related audits by state and federal regulatory agencies
- Performs company insurance administration including quote negotiation, claims, reporting, approving invoices and communicating
- Perform cost control of repairs and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies
- Control repair purchase orders and parts orders
- Monitors preventive maintenance and repair of fleet
- Maximizes revenue miles per tractor and strait truck through appropriate equipment utilization. Meet utilization expectations of the fleet
Assist with the following:
- Perform safety effort for company vehicles and equipment including inspections by the maintenance team and update and maintain in software, equipment list, equipment files
- Coordinate accident/incident investigations and follow up on any open claims with adjusters. Provide immediate response and guidance for serious incidents and emergency situations
- Promote safe operations by monitoring and ensuring driver’s participation in all safety related training
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations including OSHA
[Qualifications]
- Experience maintaining and repairing diesel, semi-trucks, and straight trucks.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills
- The ability to problem-solve and prioritize assignments
- Knowledge of IFTA/IRP reporting, CSA and FMCSA regulations
- 1+ years of fleet experience within a transportation company required
- CDL License
