Loan Origination Manager
Position Summary: The Loan Origination Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire loan process, from initial application to closing, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies. This role requires a bilingual professional (Korean and English) to effectively communicate with our diverse clientele and manage the loan team efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Loan Application and Interview:
- Receive and review loan applications.
- Conduct interviews with customers to gather necessary information for loan processing.
2. Credit Memo Preparation:
- Prepare comprehensive credit memos for new loan applications, ensuring all financial and personal information is accurately documented.
3. Loan Closing Activities:
- Obtain and verify necessary documents from customers.
- Coordinate with the Legal Management Department (LMD) to verify legal documents.
- Arrange and manage the loan closing process, ensuring all steps are completed efficiently and accurately.
4. Collateral Management:
- Update property insurance information and ensure real estate tax payments are current.
- Manage all aspects of collateral to ensure compliance with lending policies.
5. Loan Administration:
- Update and maintain credit documents and collateral records.
- Conduct annual reviews as per the Lending Policy to ensure ongoing compliance and risk management.
6. Site Visitation:
- Perform site visits to assess and verify collateral conditions and borrower information.
7. Credit Memo for Renewals and Modifications:
- Prepare credit memos for loan renewals, extensions, refinances for maturing loans, and other loan modifications.
8. Follow-ups for Past Due and Problem Loans:
- Implement strategies to manage and follow up on past due loans and problem loans, working towards resolution and mitigation of risk.
9. Regulatory Compliance:
- Implement and oversee BSA/AML (Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering) compliance measures.
- Ensure the Customer Identification Program is executed correctly.
- Perform Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan management or a similar role.
- Fluency in Korean and English is required.
- Strong understanding of lending regulations and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
